Evaluating the IPAT formula in Greece over the 1960-2019 period with respect to CO₂ emissions

Abstract The IPAT formula attempts to evaluate the impact of human activity on environment. Considering specifically total emissions carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) as environment, equation takes particular form Kaya identity proposed by Yoichi in 1993. This paper adopts Tapio decoupling approach and explores underlying factors, through a formulation, that have driven evolution CO 2 Greece from 1960 2019, which is rather long period time. study evaluates contribution each factor over time shaping Greece. Results could be helpful for implementation proper strategies focusing mitigating without hindering economic growth process
